Chester B. Hayden, Sr., 92, of Tiverton passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of Sylvia L. (Conboy) Hayden.
Mr. Hayden was born in Fall River, son of the late Robert and Hazel Hayden and had resided in Tiverton for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a school teacher at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, Fall River. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Hayden was a 55 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and he loved horses.
Survivors along with his wife include his son: Chester B. Hayden, Jr. of Tiverton; his daughter: Sheryl L. Berna and her husband Gary of Freetown; 2 grandchildren: Garrett Berna, Ellen Harrington and her husband Frank; and a great grandchild: Frank Harrington, IV.
He was the brother of the late Robert Hayden, Birdah Carey and Delores Tickle.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 9:30-11:00 A.M., at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
