WORCESTER-Helen (Cunningham) McMenemy formerly of 46 Lakewood Street, died Friday, May 24th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an illness. Her husband, William D. McMenemy died in 1985. She leaves 2 sons, Willam J. McMenemy of Leicester and Richard D. McMenemy of Paxton; a daughter, Jane F. wife of Alfred A. DeFalco, Jr. of Sturbridge, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. 3 brothers, Michael, Patrick and Joseph Cunningham and 4 sisters, Sr. Agnes Polycarp, Jane Murray, Elizabeth McGlynn and Mary Cunningham predeceased her.
She was born in County Leitrim, Ireland the daughter of Richard and Bridget (Mason) Cunningham and lived in Worcester for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing.
The funeral will be Thursday, May 30th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, May 29th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
