Obituary

NATICK: Mr. Albert J. Cugini, age 95, of Natick, formerly of Milford, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at MetroWest Medical Center in Natick after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Joan M. (Hall) Cugini, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.

Mr. Cugini is also survived by three children, Richard Cugini and his wife Beth of Natick, Patricia Hunter and her husband Jim of Westford and James Cugini of Natick; his grandchildren, Susan Cugini of Natick, Tricia Castellan of California, Danielle Hunter of New Jersey and Michael Hunter of Westford. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Sarah Fleming, and Aiden and Hailey Castellan; and his nieces Joni and Karli.

Born in Milford, he was the son of the late Gerard Cugini and Angelina (Notturno) Cugini Nagi. Mr. Cugini had been a joint owner, with his late brother Frank, of Frank’s Auto body, and operator of Frank’s Service Station in Milford for over 42 years. He retired in 1987 and for several years thereafter worked part time at Mabardy’s Gulf Station in Natick.

Mr. Cugini served with the U.S. Army during World War II, seeing combat in several European Theatre Campaigns.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, on Monday, October 31st 10:00AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common on Sunday, 2 – 5PM. Burial will be at a later date.
