Passed away on October 26, 2016 at the VA Medical Center after a courageous battle with advanced prostate cancer. He was born June 16, 1950 in St. Paul. Preceded in death by father Joseph; sister Brenda; grandparents; many aunts & uncles. Survived by loving wife of 36 years, Cathy; daughter Sarah (Steve) Carlson & son Matthew (Trent Whiteford). Tim was a proud grandpa to beautiful granddaughters Cassandra & Samantha Carlson. He is also survived by mother Aloha; sisters Becky (Robert) Graham & Linda (Duane) Putz; brother Larry (Judy); parents-in-law Eugene & Mary Kahnke; brothers-in-law Daniel (Debbie) Kahnke & William Kahnke (David Tukua); nieces & nephews. Tim was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army & a retired US Postal employee. Tim was always upbeat & willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. Through his 2+ years battling cancer, Tim never complained. He enjoyed spending time with his family & friends, especially Dan & Tom. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday (11/2) 11:00 AM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 N. Margaret St., North St. Paul. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to Mass. A special thank you to Drs. Roberto Leon Ferre & Manish Kohli at the Mayo Clinic, & to the Palliative Care Team, especially Dr. Bok, Rachel Wiste & Beverly Williams. Also a heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at the VA Medical Center for their care of Tim.
