Linda A. Ellis, Ed.D.
Augusta, GA – Linda A. Ellis, beloved mother of Jennifer E. (Troy) Rogers passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate, Charles H. Ellis; her parents Ernest and Mille Sue (Cannon) Akins; and her brother, Bill Akins. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her sisters, Jane (Josh) Hodges and Diane (Wendell) Morris of Statesboro, Georgia.
Dr. Ellis was born in Statesboro, Georgia but had lived in the Augusta area since 1963. She received her BSN and MSN from the Medical College of Georgia and her doctorate from the University of Georgia. She retired from the Medical College of Georgia, School of Nursing as Associate Dean and Associate Professor Emeritus after serving more than thirty years in many capacities. She was a past member of the Daylily Society of Greater Augusta.
A memorial service will be Saturday, November 5, 2016, 12:00 Noon in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son. There will be a short visitation preceding the service at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
