Worcester – Ronald F. Corey, 44, of Worcester, died on Thursday, October 20thin UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus from injuries that he sustained in a bicycle accident.

Mr. Corey was born in Worcester, and was the son of the late Dorothy (St. George) Corey and Ronald Garabedian. He is survived by his sister, Denise M. Ouimette and her husband, Daniel of Oxford; two nephews, his Godson Corey Ouimette and Dylan Ouimette and a niece, Renée Ouimette. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and circles of many friends

The life of Ron can be summed up with the following words that were written by a coworker from the Worcester District Court where Ron had worked since September 10, 2007 – “With a heavy heart today I’m thinking about Ronald Corey who lost his life the other night on his way home. Ron was a friend! Every day, as he made his rounds as our office custodian, he stopped to chat about life. He lived his life the way he wanted. He chose to ride his bicycle to and from work instead of driving a car. He enjoyed playing his drums in his apartment. He enjoyed listening to his favorite rock group Rush. He enjoyed sharing funny videos and pictures. He posted “Thin Ice” by Pink Floyd at 10:53 PM on Facebook about 20 minutes before he lost his life. His quote was, “You’re skating on it.” We had some good laughs. He took his job seriously and his work ethic was second to none! No one ever knows when their turn to ascend in to the heavens and leave this earth. Ron, I’m just glad that I actually got the privilege of knowing you! May you truly rest in peace. I will miss you! Love You buddy!! God Speed and God Bless”

You will be missed by many, especially your sister. Rest easy, love you lil brother.

Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, November 1st for calling hours from 6 to 8 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. A prayer service will be held during the calling hours. Memorial contributions in memory of Ron may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
