Obituary

Hudson, MA

Antonio Lourenço, 96 of Hudson, MA passed away peacefully on October 23rd after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of 37 years of the late Emilia Natividade Oliveira. He was predeceased by his second wife of 14 years, Maria Emilia Oliveira.

Antonio was born and raised in Serra, Tomar, Portugal, son of the late Manuel and Emilia Maria Lourenço. He worked for many years as a mason in Portugal. After retiring, he emigrated to Hudson in 1988 to be with his family. Antonio was a proud member of St. Michael’s parish, the Hudson Portuguese Club and the Hudson Senior Center.

Antonio enjoyed gathering with his family and friends for a good meal and telling stories. He enjoyed singing, gardening and traveling especially to his native Portugal. He was very generous with his time volunteering at the Hudson Portuguese Club and at many scholarship fundraisers for Hudson students. His kind and loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves his son (nephew), Claudinor Oliveira Salomão and his wife Ana C. Terra-Salomão of Hudson. He is also survived by his 7 loving grandchildren; Maria L. Salomão-Schmidt and her husband Doug of Holliston, João A. Salomão of Hudson, Claudinor C. Salomão and his wife Cheryl of Southampton, Pedro F. Salomão and his wife Beth of Arlington Heights, IL; Mark J. Terra-Salomão, Jeffery A. Terra-Salomão and Julia E. Terra-Salomão of Hudson along with 10 adoring great grandchildren. Antonio is also survived by his long-time companion, Frances V. Lawton of Hudson and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Manuel Lourenço, his two sisters and his nephew, Jose M. Lourenço.

A funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel next to the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Monday, Oct. 31st from 3:00 TO 7:00 p.m. at Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home. Inc., 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
