Betty Joyce Smith Hill, 79, of Brookfield passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Mrs. Hill will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 29, 2016, from 1:00 until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Albert Hill Jr., Chuck Hill, DeWayne Hill, Bobby Hill, Tim Hill, W. A. Hines and Randy Blalock will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 20, 1937 in Colquitt County, Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the late William Thurman “Boots” Smith and Bertha Plumer Franklin Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert M. Hill, Sr.; one daughter, Tammy Hill Johnson Little; a grandson, Scott Blalock; a sister, Diane Smith; and a brother, William Smith. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved to sew and cook.
Mrs. Hill is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Randy Blalock of Chula; a son and daughter-in-law, Albert “Doodle” Jr. and Missy Hill of Tifton; one brother, John Thomas Smith; two sisters, Roxie Hines of Tifton and Tina Smith of St. Simons Island; her grandchildren, Hunter Johnson, Casey Blalock, Weslyan Johnson and Nikki Henderson; and her great-grandchildren, Connor Wilder and Alanna Edney.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Lee and Lamar Garren, Tiffany Bruner, CNA and MRS Homecare for their special care of Mrs. Hill.
