Gerda Maria Helene Bruno Carreiro, 81, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on October 25, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Josef Terhorst and the late Helene Roth Terhorst. She was the beloved wife of 23 years to Albert Carreiro and wife of 25 years to the late Louis Bruno. She was a devoted mother to her son Louis and his wife Laura of Groton, MA, her son Michael of Canton, MA, her daughter Maria of Canton, MA, and her stepson Joseph and his wife Monica, of PA. She was also the cherished grandmother to Matthew, 28, Jarrod, 25, Shannon, 23, Olivia, 22, Christopher, 21, Jamieson, 19, Johnathon, 18, Jonathan,18 and Andrew, 17. Her devotion to her family gave her joy and peace.
Born in 1935 in Brakel, Germany, Gerda immigrated to the United States in 1949. Gerda was a generous individual who loved dancing, gardening, and was passionate about golf. Her most prolific joy was spending time with her family. She was an active and dedicated member of the Boylston Schul-Verein and the German American Ladies Society of New England.
Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St., Canton Friday from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 29, at 10:30 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church 700 Washington St, Canton. Interment St. Mary’s cemetery, Canton.
