Giuseppina Caruso of Somerville died on Wednesday, October 26, in Medford. Born and raised in Avellino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Gaetana (Brogna) Lombardo. Giuseppina came to the U.S. and settled first in Boston's North End before moving to Somerville 32 years ago.
She was the beloved wife of the late Mario Caruso, and the devoted mother of Angela Pagliuca and her husband Freddy of Malden, Ralph Caruso of Somerville, Nina Coughlin and her husband Joseph of Malden. Giuseppina was the loving grandmother of Gaetano Pagliuca and Tiandra Borges of Salem, MA, Stephen Coughlin and Jessica Bizarria of Salem, NH, Teresa Pagliuca, Vienna Coughlin, and Josephine Pagliuca, all of Malden. She was the sister of Giovanni Lombardo and Angela Frangillo of Italy, and the late Antonio Lombardo. Giuseppina was the sister-in-law of Maria and Sabatino Bozzella of Boston, Maria Caruso of Malden, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, October 29, at 8:45AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St., Boston, at 9:45AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours Friday, October 28, from 4 through 8PM.
