Donna Marie (Gambino) Krea, age 64, of Woburn, formerly of Winchester, passed away on Oct. 25, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Michael Krea.
Born in Boston, Donna was the daughter of John and Evelyn (Newcomb) Gambino of Winchester. She was raised and educated in Winchester, graduating from Winchester High School with the class of 1970. After graduation, she worked as a secretary for CNA Insurance in Boston for many years, and then as an administrative assistant at St. Paul’s Church in Lexington (formerly of Somerville) for 30 years. She was dedicated to St. Mark Church, in attendance and work, and Rev. Samuel Bombara remembers her attention and kindness to visiting missionaries.
In her spare time, Donna enjoyed music, dancing, biking and walking, especially around Horn Pond in Woburn, and loved the beaches in Rockport and Gloucester and her late 21-year-old cat Angie. A good cook, Donna was always serving people and hosting the holidays. She was very family-oriented and Sunday family dinners at her parents’ house were never to be missed.
In addition to her husband and parents, Donna is survived by her son Garry Materese of Billerica, sisters: Deborah McManus and her husband Steve of Woburn, Denise Carter of Lowell and Elise Gambino-Hamilton and her husband Peter of Winchester. She was also the cherished aunt of Tanya Funari and her husband Pastor James Funari, Dennis Carter and Michael Hamilton, and great-aunt of Isabella, Sophia and Giuliana Funari. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Oct. 28 at 11:00 AM in St. Mark Evangelical Church at the First Congregational Church, 322 Main St., Woburn, MA 01801. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
