Boston – David A. Souza, age 69 of Acushnet, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Susan (Moniz) Souza and the son of the late Antone Souza, Jr. and Hilda (Flora) Souza.
David was born in New Bedford, spent all his life in this area and worked as an English Teacher for New Bedford School Systems. He was a member of the Downshifters Car Club. He enjoyed photography and cooking pies.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Souza of Acushnet; 2 children: Kevin Souza and his wife Bernadette, and Kelly Souza; granchildren, Cody, Kayla and Kyle Souza; stepdaughter, Jenna Tieu and her husband, Minh; 2 step grand children: Jayden and Ellie Tieu.
David will be cremated. His funeral will be Tuesday beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. with a Religious Service to begin at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740.
