Mr. Russell Edwards, age 84, passed away in Baptist Memorial - East in Memphis, TN on Tuesday, August 9, 2005.
The son of the late Early Thomas Edwards and Fleda McCain Edwards, he was born in Yalobusha County and lived here all of his life, and was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Irene Edwards,who passed away Jan. 22,2000. Mr. Edwards was a member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church and was retired from the US Postal Service. He served his country in WW II in the US Army.
Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Thursday evening, August 11, 2005 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Friday afternoon at Seven Oaks Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Conducting the service will be Rev. James West and Rev. Hal Clark. Serving as pallbearers are: Lee Pullen, Wesley Mcain, Steve Edwards, Donald Edwards, Randle McCain, Jimmy Edwards, Willie Pullen and Tommy Edwards. Honorary pallbearers are the Sylva Rena Adult Men's Sunday School Class- Bo White, Barney Pullen, Jamie Thomas, Milton Hix, Ray Eubanks, Jack Biggers, Bob Moore, Buddy Lowery, James Bolton, Jessie Barnes, Harold Hughes, Bill Norris and James Hudson.Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS.
He is survived by two daughters, Annie Maude McCain of Water Valley, MS and Judy Hudson of Oxford, MS: two sons, Buddy Edwards and Sammy Edwards, both of Water Valley, MS: and grandchildren, Megan Edwards, Lovie and Heather Edwards, Wesley and Randle McCain, Rachel and Barton Hudson.
