David Richard Hathorn, 73, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. Mr. Hathorn will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 28, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
David Gibbs, Cypress Hathorn, Gary Bearden, Collin Hathorn, Tim Hathorn and Rodney Hill will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 29, 1943 in Anniston, Alabama, Mr. Hathorn was the son of the late Braxton Hathorn and Earstine Ray Hathorn. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jim “Catfish” Hathorn. He was retired from Georgia Power Company and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church.
Mr. Hathorn is survived by his wife, Patsy Sloan Hathorn of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim Richard and Laurie Hathorn of Tifton; one brother, Mike Hathorn of Anniston, Alabama; one sister, Nancy Bearden of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; one grandson and his wife, Collin and Lauren Hathorn; and one great-grandson, Weston Charleston Hathorn.
