Obituary

SOUTH HADLEY – Catherine M. “Caye” (Page) Woodburn, 93, a longtime resident of Hillside Avenue in South Hadley, was Called Safely Home on Monday, October 24, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at the Genesis Westford House in Westford, Massachusetts surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Amherst on June 4, 1923, a beloved daughter of the late Winfred Page and Flora (Girouard) Page. She was raised in Amherst, graduated from Amherst High School and lived in Amherst for many years before moving to Holyoke. In 1954, she moved to South Hadley were she lived until moving in with her daughter, Sandra, in Westford in December of 2011. Caye was a longtime member of the Holyoke Women’s Club and enjoyed many trips with the club. She was a volunteer and a member of the South Hadley Council on Aging. During her leisure time, Caye enjoyed working on ceramics and walking. She was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church in South Hadley Falls. Most of all, she was a loving woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Morgan F. “Woody” Woodburn who was Called Home on April 30, 1988. They were married on June 28, 1947 at Saint Jerome Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 40 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving children, Sandra L. Woodburn-Blocker and her husband, Craig Blocker, of Westford and Neil F. Woodburn of Blandford; her four cherished grandchildren, Kyla and Kelsey Blocker and Nicholas and Janine Woodburn; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Woodburn and Page families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her three dear brothers, Raymond, Francis and Robert Page; and her two dear sisters, Rita Rule and Lillian Page. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, October 28, 2016 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Patrick Church, 30 Main Street, South Hadley Falls, MA 01075. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Rose Cemetery, 226 Granby Road, (Rte. 202), South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
