Lavina Stanley, 75, of Anderson, died October 25, 2016, following a brief illness.
Lavina was born January 29, 1941, in Elwood, Indiana to Otto and Naomi (Wooldridge) Gunst. She met her husband, Joe Stanley, in 1956 and married on May 25, 1957, and were married 60 years.
She attended Anderson High School. Lavina worked at Kleinhenn Company as the warehouse manager before retiring after 25 years.
Lavina enjoyed time with her family, playing cards and board games, reading, birds, the Game Show Network, traveling 49 states with her husband, teaching her Maltese, Chelsie, many tricks, cheering on the Colts and Jeff Gordon in NASCAR and a forever love for Elvis.
Mrs. Stanley is survived by her husband, Joe Stanley, daughter Vickie (Stanley-Terrell) Dudley (Ace) of Selma, IN, sons Joe Stanley Jr. (Kim) of Fayetteville, GA, Robert (Bob) Stanley (Connie) of Woodstock, GA, brother John Gunst of Muncie, 10 grandchildren: Jason (Amy) Dudley, TJ (Sunshine) Terrell, Justin Dudley, Joshua (Kari) Terrell, Kristie (Roger) Dilly, Jordan (Brack) Hassell, Zach Stanley, Brooke (JB) Taylor, Jesse Stanley, Kara Stanley and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Naomi Gunst.
Family and friends visitation will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service on Friday 4-7pm and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at 11am with officiating by Rev. Joe Stanley Jr. followed by interment at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Ostomy Club of St. Vincent-Anderson, St. Vincent Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.
