Richard V. Fernandes, age 79, of Carver MA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on October 24, 2016. He was born on February 14, 1937 in Plymouth, MA. He was the devoted husband of Phyllis A. (Pinto) Fernandes.
He was the son of the late Thomas P. Fernandes and Sadie (Gouveia) Fernandes. Richard was educated in Plymouth schools. Richard was retired for many years and most recently drove for Carver GATRA bus. Richard started working as a young man at Buttner’s Clothing in Plymouth with many of his family members for many years and then started his own rug cleaning and janitorial service called Beauty Floor and Rug Cleaning Company.
Enjoyed bowling, playing cards, going to the casino and spending time with his family.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St.(Rt.58) Carver on Thursday October 27, from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 28, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church,130 Main St. Carver at 10:00AM.
