Dorothy Mae “Dot” Portwood Hall, 84, of Midville passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Burke Medical Center in Waynesboro. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Hall will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Friday, October 28, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born October 28, 1931 in Ambrose, Mrs. Hall was the daughter of the late Fletcher Portwood and Bula Mae Tomberlin Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean Hall, who died October 31, 1987; and one daughter, Pauline Griff. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hall is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael Hall and Catherine Tripp of Ocilla; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kay Durden of Ocilla, Janice and Jim Young of Fitzgerald and Jennette and Jake Saia of Plains; one brother and sister-in-law, J. P. and Flo Minchew of Pensacola, Florida; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
