Obituary

Gregory J. Derosier, 81, of Plainfield Pike, North Scituate, died Saturday in RI Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Irene (Albert) Derosier for 61 years.

Born in Stockholm, ME, he was a son of Joseph and Ida (Lavoie) Derosier. Mr. Derosier served seventeen years in the Rhode Island National Guard, and he was the owner of D&L Limited, which was involved in the creation and construction of the Bogg Warner Trophy, awarded to all winners of the Indianapolis 500.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children, Cheryl A. Verdelotti and her husband, Richard of Scituate, Gregory P. Derosier and his wife, Mary Ellen of Scituate, Laura M. Gentile and her husband, Paul of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Lisa R. Saccoccio and her husband, Chip of Coventry, his grandchildren, Jennifer, Thomas and his wife, Amanda, Daniel, Nicole and her husband, Adam and Hillary, his great-grandchildren, Marissa and Madison, as well as his siblings Stella Richardson of Buffalo, NY, and John Derosier of Boise, Idaho. He is predeceased by his siblings, Joseph “Eddie”, Raymond, George, Norma-Jean and Madelyn Derosier, Pearl Romano, and Carol Lawler.

A Mass of Christian Burial Saturday October 29th at 10am in St. Joseph Church, Danielson Pike, Scituate.
