Dorothy (Rapoza) Ferreira, age 91, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday October 22, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Francelina (Nunes) Rapoza and an assistant manager for the I.L.G.W.U. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter; Barbara Joyce Richards, son-in-law Richard Gonsalves, grandchildren; Jennifer Sweet, Jocelyn Tondreault, Todd and Chad Gonsalves, great grandchildren; Jessica, Ethan, Cayden and Mason, great-great grandson Brayden, sister Julia Simbro, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Donna Gonsalves, and sister of the late Joseph and Manuel Rapoza, Irene Ferreira, Celia Moniz, and Evelyn Machado.
Dorothy’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all the staff at Kimwell. They will be forever grateful for the care love and compassion that they provided to Dorothy.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Thursday with extended calling hours from 9:30-10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Ma Commission for the Blind 600 Washington St, Boston, MA 02111.
