Joel D. Sunderland II, 59, of Duxbury, died after a short illness on October 21, 2016. Beloved son of Joel and Doris Sunderland of Westport. Former husband of Susan Sunderland. Loving father of Tyler, Wyatt, and Anne Sunderland of Duxbury. Brother to Jeff Sunderland, Janice Martineau, and Jerilyn McQuade. Mr. Sunderland is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Joel graduated from UMass Dartmouth with a degree in civil engineering and was director of Construction for Saxon Partners. He was an avid skier, golfer, and tennis player.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 27th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, Kingston. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family church in Duxbury on Friday, October 28th at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
