Obituary

Catherine P. (Waite) Sullivan, 57, of Franklin, died peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Boston on October 7, 1959, she was the daughter of Charles P. Waite of San Francisco, California and the late Catherine (Corbett) Joyce.

Cathy grew up in Wellesley and graduated from Dana Hall School in 1977. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College in Ohio where she played basketball and lacrosse.

Cathy was a resident of Franklin for the past 25 years and worked as a real estate agent in the Franklin area for many years.

Sports were a big part of Cathy’s life as both a participant and fan. She coached basketball, enjoyed playing golf and loved her dogs although her children were the most important thing to her and she had an unwavering love and support for them.

She is survived by two daughters, Kelly Meredith of Winooski, Vermont and Ashley Hannon and her husband Scott of Clinton, and her son Chad Sullivan of Wrentham.

She is also survived by two brothers, Chad Waite and his wife Susan of Whitefish, Montana and David Waite and his wife Heather of Walpole, a sister Patricia Bishop and her husband Bruce of Wellesley, many nieces and nephews, and her aunt and uncle, Jackie and Philip Pescatore of Marshfield.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Wednesday, October 26 at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin at 10 a.m.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Cathy’s memory to the Catherine Sullivan Trust c/o Dean Bank, P.O. Box 307, Franklin, MA 02038 to benefit her children.
