Margaret J. (Cantoni) Filosi, 71 of Abington, after a long illness died on Thursday October 20 at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in North Adams, Massachusetts in 1945 and raised in Whitman, she was the daughter of late Gerry and Laura (Robar) Cantoni.
Margaret had worked many years for The Olde Red Cider Mill in Hanover, MA, Chadwicks of Boston, and HarbourOne Bank in customer service.
She enjoyed reading and sewing. Margaret was most noted in the community as an outstanding seamstress, always using her expertise in tailoring band and cheerleader uniforms, wedding gowns, and prom dresses.
Loving wife to Philip J. Filosi for 52 years, beloved sister of Anthony Cantoni and his wife June of St. Johnsbury, Vermont and Gerald Cantoni and his wife Gail of Kingston, Massachusetts, cherished mother to Philip M. Filosi and his wife Sara of Lincoln, RI. The adored and much loved Nona to John Ingles, Shawn, Megan and Anya Filosi. She also leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her son David Filosi and her daughter Tina Ingles.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday October 27 at 10:00 AM in the All Saints Church, on 44 Park Ave in Whitman. Burial will be held at a later date. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday October 26 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
