Obituary

Mary F. (Tibnam) Bacon, 89, originally of Abington, passed away on October 19, 2016 at Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell H. Bacon, to whom she was married to for 63 years.

Mary was born on March 2, 1927 in Avon, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Rusell) Tibnam. She graduated from Avon High School and attended a business school in Boston. She worked at Tucker Anthony Financial prior to working as the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Russ' Auto Service Station in Brockton.

Mary devoted her life to raising her children and spending time with her husband. She was an attendee at the United Church of Christ in Abington and donated countless pies for the church dinners. She was a talented seamstress and knit many afghans. She enjoyed being with her family, gardening, listening to country music, reading, and travels throughout the United States. She will be forever remembered for the countless ways she showed her love to her family.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Elz and her husband Ronald of Bellingham and Priscilla Durant and her husband Kenneth of Wrentham, five cherished grandchildren, Jason and Brandon Elz and Tyler, Olivia and Emma Durant. She was the sister of the late John Tibnam of Avon and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, October 26 from 4-7 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street in Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home officiated by Rev. Ken Landin.

Mary will be interred alongside her husband at the Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree on Thursday, October 27 at 11 a.m.
