Roderick Riel Jr, 55
PORTLAND - Roderick (Rod) Riel passed away on October 16, 2016 after a short battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away. He was born in Worcester MA and grew up in Oxford MA.
Rod, who recently moved to Maine with his family, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taxidermy. He was the son of the late Roderick Riel Sr and the late Joan Bourassa Riel of Oxford. He leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Linda Mattson Riel, a daughter Elizabeth Mattson Coffey, her husband James Coffey, a grandson JJ Coffey, his sister Tracy Riel Dennis, and many friends and loved ones.
Instead of funeral services, the family will be having a celebration of Rod's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Gosnell Memorial Hospice, 11 Hunnewell Rd, Scarborough ME 04074.
