SWANSEA – Mary (Martin) Ferreira, age 92 of Swansea, passed away Oct. 20, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Julio Ferreira and the daughter of the late Manuel S. & Carolina (Lima) Martin. Prior to retiring, Mary had worked for Ideal Laundry, Sparkle Cleansers, Star Pickling and Hope Street Bakery. She was also a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her children: Beverly A. Pacheco (husband Paul), Ronald D. Ferreria (companion Mildred Rousseau), Marilyn J. Del Sesto (husband Richard) of Swansea and Cynthia “Cindy” L. Silva (husband Michael S.) of Somerset; her brothers: Manuel Martin of Swansea and Louis B. Martins of Framingham & FL; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Fernando & Joseph Martin.
Mary’s family would like to thank the excellent staff from Beacon Hospice and Country Gardens Rehabilitation & Nursing Care Center for their loving and compassionate care.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday here at 11:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Swansea at 12:00 P.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
