Obituary

Edna D. (Graham) Sebor was born February 1, 1924 to Herbert and Alice Graham of Chicopee, Massachusetts. Edna was born in Chicopee Falls, MA, educated in Chicopee schools and graduated from Chicopee High School, Class of 1941. She attended Springfield Civil School for Business from 1941-1942. From 1943 to 1948 she relocated to New York City where she attended NYU and the New School for Social Research. In 1949 Edna returned to Chicopee and married William Sebor of West Springfield. They moved to Springfield in 1960 and returned to Chicopee in 1976. Edna loved books, art and the theater. She and her husband hosted a play reading group in their home for several years. She and William were active participants in the Great Books Program. She held several positions in her business career and retired from Monarch Life Insurance Company in 1989. She then became a VISTA volunteer in the Chicopee Adult Literacy program. Husband William Sebor, graphic artist, died in 2003. Edna is survived by her son, Evan Sebor of Springfield, her daughter and son-in-law, Pam Sebor-Cable and William Cable of Framingham, MA, and their two daughters, Sonia and Mei Cable. She also leaves three nephews, George Edge Jr, Ray Sebor, Charles Sebor, Jr. and their families.A private service will be held by the family at a time and place to be announced. Gifts may be sent to Concerned Citizens for Animals, Springfield, MA, The American Civil Liberties Union, or the American Cancer Society.
