Mary M. Jason of Provincetown passed away quietly at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. She was 97.
Born in Provincetown, she was the daughter of Armand and Mary (Souza) Gill. A graduate of Provincetown High School, she was the wife of the late Joseph ‘Did it’ Jason who died in 1993, after 35 years of marriage.
Mary was well known in town, working seasonally for many years at the Dairy Queen on Bradford Street. She was a member and past-president of both the Ladies Auxiliary’s of the Morris Light Post, American Legion and the Louis A. Young Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was also a member of St. Peter the Apostle Parish.
Mary leaves her daughter, Marianna Greeley, with whom she made her home, a daughter Irene Lily of Wellfleet and a son, John Andrews of Florida. A sister, Janet Stockburger of Wells Maine also survives her, as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughters Janet Marie Andrews, Helen Wallace, brothers Edmund Gill, Jr, Claude Gill and sister Thelma Herrick.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon, Friday October 21st at St. Peter the Apostle Church, Prince St., Provincetown. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
