WORCESTER - Mrs. Doris (Gabriella) Gauthier, 83, passed away peacefully, Wednesday October 19th with her family by her side at Notre Dame Health Care.
Doris was born in Worcester on May 27, 1933 a daughter of the late Patrick and Carrie (Morello) Gabriella. Loving wife to the late Police Officer, William G. Gauthier Sr.
A lifelong resident, Doris was educated and graduated from Commerce High School. She worked for over thirty years in customer service at the Norton Company. After retiring she enjoyed travelling to Port Charlotte, Florida in the winter and returning to Worcester in the spring.
She was the former president of the Worcester Police Wives Association. Doris was a lover of music, a roller skater and enjoyed crocheting.
Her family wishes to thank the staff and administration at Shrewsbury Crossing- Harbor Neighborhood and the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center – Harmony Village for their compassionate care. Doris was truly blessed to have had these special people come into her life.
Doris is survived by her three children. William G. Gauthier Jr. and his wife Lynda of Worcester, Robert F. Gauthier and his husband Joshua Chard of So. Portland, Maine, and Donna Beando and her husband Joseph of Worcester; she leaves her brother, Patrick Gabriella of Auburn; four grandchildren, Gena Gauthier and her fiancé Joseph Vigliotti, William Gauthier, Danielle Beando and Michelle Beando.
Doris was the sister to the late Marie Fors and sister in law to the late Abbie Gabriella.
Her funeral will take place on Saturday, October 22nd at FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St Worcester. A funeral mass will follow at Our Lady of Angels Church, Worcester at 10:00am. Interment will be in St John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, October 21st from 4:00pm to 7:00pm .
