Irene Kendrick Watson, 91, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dan Eidson officiating. Mrs. Watson will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 21, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born June 15, 1925 in Tift County, Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Kendrick and Fannie Belle Woodham Kendrick, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edison Watson; three brothers; and three sisters. She and her husband were owners of the Varsity Drive-In in Tifton and she was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Watson is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Debbie Watson of Hendersonville, Tennessee; two daughters and one son-in-law, Pat Jernigan of Tifton and Sandy and Paul Samples of Cumming; eight grandchildren, Jack Watson Jr., Carrie Kulesa, Chelsea Brewer, Jana Hill, John Jernigan, Ivey Samples, Tanner Samples and Grayton Samples; and five great-grandchildren, Jackie Watson, Parker Watson, Remi Hill, Kayleah Kulesa and Chloe Kulesa.
