NEW BEDFORD - Timothy Philip Goulet, age 44, died of complications from diabetes related kidney disease on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Tim, a lifelong resident of Dartmouth, MA is survived by his mother, Jane B. Goulet, of S. Dartmouth, MA; his sister and brother-in-law, Bethany and Ian McGonnigal, of Huntington Beach, CA; and his niece, Amy McGonnigal, and nephew, Cameron McGonnigal, of Huntington Beach, CA and Berkley, CA respectively. He is preceded in death by his father and best friend, Philip R. Goulet, of S. Dartmouth, MA; his maternal grandparents John and Amy Rainford, of New Bedford, MA; and his paternal grandparents, Amedee and Germaine Goulet, of N. Dartmouth, MA as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tim was born on November 3, 1971, and lovingly adopted by his parents Jane and Phil Goulet on January 14, 1972. He graduated from Dartmouth High School in 1990 and attended Essex Agricultural School eventually graduating in 1997 from Bristol Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. Tim was involved in Junior Achievement and volunteering with the Special Olympics bowling team. He loved a quiet night fishing at the beach and he always had time for a hand of cards with anyone who would play. Tim worked for The Office Supply Co. and owned and ran a landscaping business, Tim Goulet’s Lawn and Yard Care, for several years prior to his illness. Tim never had any children but doted on his Niece and Nephew as if they were his own. He was the family communicator and would keep up with all of the goings on with a rather large bunch of relatives. He will be missed for this and his ability to show caring and concern for all he met as well as always have a corny joke on hand and much more.
A Memorial service is scheduled for Timothy on October 22, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at The Congregational Church of South Dartmouth, MA, Middle Street officiated by Pastor Douglas Stivison with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Timothy’s life. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers that took such good care of Tim when he really needed you.
The Family requests in Lieu of Flowers donations can be sent to Joslin Diabetes Center (www.Joslin.Harvard.edu) and/or National Kidney Foundation (www.Kidney.org/donation).
