Madeline J. Broadbridge

TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Madeline Jane (Maxwell) Broadbridge, age 103, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 18, at Prescott House in North Andover, where she had been in residence for the last three years. She was the wife of the late Leslie L. Broadbridge, who died in 2004.
She was born in Swampscott in September 1913, a daughter of the late Ralph and May (Lynch) Maxwell, and was raised in Swampscott. She lived in Swampscott the greater part of her life, spent her later years in Exeter, NH, and moved to North Andover three years ago.
In her earlier years, she was employed as a sales clerk for Filene’s at their Downtown Crossing store.
Madeline was lovingly described as a devout Catholic woman.
She leaves two daughters, Joan DiFoggio of Tewksbury and Gail Torrey of Swampscott; seven grandchildren, Peter Michael DiFoggio of Tewksbury, Gail Spenser of Lowell, Lisa Gagnon of Tewksbury and her fiancé Michael Olenchak of Chelmsford, Karen DiFillipo and her husband Gary of Lynn, Leighann Paradise and her husband David of Swampscott, Scott Torrey and his wife Lynn of Beverly, Linda LeBlanc and her husband Gregory of Londonderry, NH; and many great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home. At her request all other services will be private.
