Obituary

Jean Cannell MacRae, 96, formerly of Everett, Framingham, Lunenburg and Auburndale, Florida, died peacefully surrounded by her daughter Ruth and son-in-law James Brovelli of Franklin on October 6 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham where she had received such loving care for the past 5 years.

She was born in Everett on May 18, 1920, the daughter of the late William H. Cannell and Harriet E. (Moore) Cannell.

She was a graduate of Everett High School and Colby College, in Waterville, Maine in 1942 where she met and married Weston MacRae with whom she was married to for 58 years until his death in 2000.

Jean had been a member of the Tri–Delta Sorority at Colby College.

In addition to her daughter Ruth and son-in-law, she also leaves a daughter Nancy MacRae of Saco, Maine and a son David MacRae. She will be missed by her four grandchildren, Justin and Jeffrey Pardy of Maine, Amy Trecartin of Bradford and Kate Mikel of Franklin.

She is also survived by her loving great-grandchildren, Haley Jean and Alex Wayne Mikel of Franklin.

She enjoyed knitting, swimming and was an avid reader.

She loved her friends, the Halpins, on Sunset Drive and having daily tea time. She will miss her Lunenburg family and friends at Hickory Hills Lake and her winters in Auburndale, Florida. She will be forever missed, but has left us all many wonderful memories.

Her memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 27 in the Ginley Funeral Home, 131 Main Street, Franklin at 3:30 p.m.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00 - 3:30.

Private burial will be in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
