WEBSTER – Richard E. “Dick” Wagner, 78, died Monday, October 17, 2016 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester after a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Theresa (Lenkiewicz) Wagner; 3 sons, Scott L. Wagner and his wife Joann, Corie R. Wagner and his wife Lynn and Raendi E. Wagner and his wife Rachel, all of Worcester; 5 grandchildren, Cole, Alexis, Rebecca,Samantha and Jacob Wagner; a sister, Janice A. Borski and her husband Joseph of Webster; a brother, David E. Wagner of New Hampshire; nephews and nieces.
He was born in Webster, the son of Ernest J. and Jeannette M. (Dubois) Wagner and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1956 and from the Wentworth Institute in Boston in 1958.
Mr. Wagner was a mechanical engineer all his working life. He was employed at Parker Manufacturing Co. and at Harrington Richardson Co., both in Worcester. He also worked for Bendix Co. in Sturbridge and retired in 2002 from David Clark Co. in Worcester.
He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. He was involved with Boy Scout Troop 173 for 30 years, first as a committee and then as scoutmaster. He was a member of the Singletary Rod and Gun Club and a former member of the Webster Lodge of Elks #1466.
The funeral will be held Saturday, October 22, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:00 PM Friday, October 21, and again from 8:30 to 9:15 AM Saturday, October 22, in the funeral home.
