Salvatore A. “Sam” Pappalardo

TEWKSBURY - Salvatore A. “Sam” Pappalardo, age 86, a retired foreman for the Town of
Methuen’s D.P.W., died Tuesday morning, Aug. 9, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in
Burlington. He was the husband of Louise Ann (Vecchione) Pappalardo, with whom he had
celebrated a 26th wedding anniversary on July 15th.
He was born in Lawrence, March 18, 1919, a son of the late Angelo and Josephina ( Furnari)
Pappalardo. He was raised in Methuen where he lived the greater part of his life. He moved to
Tewksbury in 1979.
During WW2, Mr. Pappalardo served in the U.S. Army.
He was an employee for the town of Methuen for more than 35 years.
He was active in the Methuen American Legion, a lifetime member of the Tewksbury V.F.W., and
the Fr. Coppen’s Council, K of C in Tewksbury. In his later years, he was an active member of
the Tewksbury Golden Age Club, and a daily visitor to the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center.
He is survived by two step-children, John A. Broski and his wife Kathleen (Mahoney) of
Methuen, and Ann L. Broski of Tewksbury; five grandchildren, John P., Matthew, and Timothy
Broski, Lindsey Ann and Brittni Condon; a sister Josephine Barbere of Methuen; a sister-in-law,
Connie Pappalardo of Methuen; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also brother of the late Joseph Pappalardo and Lena Cultraro.
His
Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Aug. 12, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Burial was in Elmwod Cemetery, Methuen.
