George E. Lyons, Jr. age 81 of Canton passed away October 16th at home. Born in Boston, he was raised in S. Boston and Dorchester and graduated from Dorchester High School. George was a hard worker and started his own company, George E. Lyons, Jr. Inc., just after high school, which he operated for over 50 years. He has lived in Canton for 55 years and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. Beloved husband of Joan C. (Edwards). Father of Joanne K. McCabe and her husband Robert of Mansfield, George E. Lyons, III and his wife Lisa of Foxboro, Michael J. Lyons and his wife Denise of Abington, Susan Olsen and her husband Lawrence of Mansfield and Mark Lyons and his wife Lauren of Canton. Brother of Joseph Lyons of Naples, FL, Paul Lyons of Dedham, Richard Lyons of Hanover and the late Robert and Edward Lyons. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church, Canton Friday morning at 10:00.
