Jerry Mobley Connor, 67, of Tifton passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016, at his residence. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Connor at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hughes officiating. Mr. Connor will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 22, 2016, immediately following the memorial service in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church.
Born November 9, 1948 in Tifton, Mr. Connor was the son of the late Claude Morris Connor and Velma Mobley Connor. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mike Connor. He was an entrepreneur and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church and Springhill Country Club. He had a special relationship with his mother and was dedicated to her care. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.
Mr. Connor is survived by one sister, Marianna Connor of Gainesville; a sister-in-law, Janice Connor; his nieces, April Connor Tillman and her son, Connor Wilkerson and wife, Reagan and Trina Barlow and husband, Davy of Baxley and her children, Mikela, Mikel, Joshua and John David; many special cousins and many special friends including, Bobby Conway, Janie Whitley and Brother Fleming.
