Nancy Wimmer Obituary (July 13, 1946 – October 17, 2016)
Nancy was born in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park on July 13, 1946—the daughter of Vernon and Marion Brown. Above all that she loved on this earth was her husband of nearly 50 years, Carl Wimmer. They loved to travel and visited many wonderful places on this beautiful earth.
Nancy adored her family—son Mark, his wife Karen, and their daughter Amber; and their daughter Kelley, her husband Marc, and their son Justin.
When their children were young, Nancy returned to college and earned a Bachelor of Art Education from the Ohio State University. She worked at the Derry News for many years in the advertising department where she leaves many close friends and colleagues.
Nancy loved the outdoors, particularly hiking in the White Mountains. Her hiking endeavor was highlighted when she hiked for two weeks in the Swiss Alps with a co-worker.
Nancy was a founding member of the Rhythm of New Hampshire Show Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International. She also loved singing with A Truth Be Told at the Londonderry Presbyterian Church. She has gone home to be with her Lord—“I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you...” Isaiah 46:4 NIV.
She is survived by a sister Barbara Khant and her husband Al of Naperville, IL; a brother Dr. Stewart Jay Brown and his wife Teri of Edinburgh, Scotland; and a brother David Marshall Brown, Esq. of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Nancy was predeceased by a sister Janice and her husband Ferdinand Fromholz of Danville, PA.
A memorial service was held in her honor at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Londonderry Presbyterian Church, 126 Pillsbury Road, Londonderry, NH 03053. The Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St. Derry, NH assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the Londonderry Presbyterian Church.
