Mary (Marzano) Fasano, a long-time Medford resident died peacefully at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Saturday. She was 97. Born in Belmont she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Anna (Tortola) Marzano. As a baby she moved back with her parents to their native town, Miranda, Italy. She returned to the United States in 1952 and lived in Medford ever since. She worked until her retirement as a hand stitcher in the garment industry. Most of all, Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family deeply.
The beloved wife of the late Federico Fasano, she was a devoted mother to Anna Pizzi and her husband Angelo of Medford, Assunta Russell and her late husband Gerry of Marietta, Georgia. She was a loving grandmother to Phyllis McGee and her husband Robert, Linda Pizzi, Marianne Coscia and her husband Nicholas, Frederick Pizzi and his wife Stephanie, Joseph Pizzi and his wife Christine, Robert Pizzi and his wife Sheri, Matthew Russell and his wife Caroline. She leaves her loving great-grandchildren: Nicky, David, Michael, Lisa, Jessica, Mary Kate, Tommy, Brianna, Isabella, Anna and Abigail. Dear sister of the late Angelo Marzano and Assunta LaBella. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary’s funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday October 20th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours at the funeral home, Wednesday 4-8 PM.
