Obituary



Henry W. Tremblay, 91, died Saturday,August 6 in Hebert’s Nursing Home in Smithfield with his beloved family by his side. He was the husband of the late Doris I. (Gorman) Tremblay.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Clovis and Eva Tremblay.
Mr. Tremblay was an Electrical Inspector for the Town of Smithfield.
He had also worked at the former Esmond Mills, was a foreman for Coken Electric. He was also Chief of Maintenance for RI Hospital and placed the Christmas Tree atop the hospital every Christmas.
He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church, a Eucharistic Minister
and a member of the Nocternal Adoration Society. He had been a Smithfield volunteer firefighter, Georgiaville Station. Henry was known for his friendly handshake, hearty laugh, ballroom dancing and was the life of many parties. His enduring smile will be remembered in the hearts of many.

He is survived by a daughter, Judy Graham of North Providence, a son, Henry W. “Bud” Tremblay of Wilson, NC, 2 sisters, Yvonne Tremblay and Laura MacKensee of Smithfield, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Brother of the late Evelyn Martin, Irene Manzi, Beatrice Coggswell, Clovis and Robert Tremblay

His funeral will be held Wednesday, August 10 at 8am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common,Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Visitation Tuesday 4-7pm. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery.
