Shields, Margaret F. (Pappalardo), age 100, of Woburn, October 14, 2016. Beloved wife of the late William Shields. Sister of the late Mary DeConto, Joseph Pappalardo and Frank Pappalardo. Lovingly survived by several nieces and a nephew. Margaret was a recipient of the Carnegie Medal for Heroism as a young girl. Her family wishes to thank the staff of the Hearthstone Alzheimer Care Facility in Woburn for the wonderful and compassionate care that was given to Margaret. Family and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Wednesday, October 19th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., WOBURN, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
