Obituary

MEDWAY: Albert C. Del Monte, Sr., age 82, of Medway and formerly of Natick and Newton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Saturday, October 15, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Danahy) Del Monte sharing 57 wonderful years of marriage together.

He was a graduate of Newton North High School and a Korean War Veteran who was very proud of his service.

After moving his family from Newton to Natick, he worked for many years as manager of Roche Bros. Supermarket where he became a friend and mentor to many. He was community minded, involved in many volunteer activities, was an integral part of the 4th of July committee for many years and once had the honor of being named Grand Marshal. He was also very involved with local sports, was a co-host on the local cable show “Let’s Talk Sports” and broadcasted many games on the local cable channel.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Thomas M. Del Monte and his companion Patricia Lienhard of Medway, John J. Del Monte and his wife Cecilia of Ashland, Albert C. Del Monte, Jr. of Westminster, granddaughter Michelle of Natick, and grandson Anthony of Ashland. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Al was predeceased by his siblings John D. Del Monte, Claire Carrol and son Michael J. Del Monte.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 20 followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street, Natick at 11:00 A.M. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday between 4:00 and 7:00 P.M.
