Obituary

Francis L. “Frank” Moran, past Commander of the American Legion, Post 45, died Sunday after a brief illness. He was 79.

Born and raised in Somerville, Frank served with the US Army during World War II in Europe. Eager to serve, he enlisted upon his high school graduation. After the war he attended Bently College and then worked as an accountant for Bristol Linen in Boston, until his retirement. Active in veteran’s associations, Frank served as Commander of American Legion Post 45 of Medford and was a member of the VFW Post 1012. He was also an officer and member of the Mystic-Wellington Yacht Club for many years.

He was the beloved husband of Roberta (Britton). He was a devoted father to Robert Moran and his wife Peg of Malden, Michelle Zani, Donna O'Brien and her husband Robert, Steven Moran, Elaine Lunardi and her husband Ralph all of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Lauren, Greg, Katy, Barbara, Sara, Steven, Erika, and David.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, Thursday at 9 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
