Liberatore "Libby" Antonino passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers. He was 95. Raised in Boston's North End, he was the son of the late Paul and Theresa (Zerpoli) Antonino. He served in the Army during World War II. Libby lived all of his life in the North End before moving to Medford 17 years ago. Before his retirement he worked for the US Postal Service at the South Postal Annex. He was devoted to his wife daughter and grandchildren. Libby also enjoyed time with his many friends especially golfing, trips to the White Mountains and Las Vegas.
The beloved husband of the late Assunta “Sue” (Cerqua) Antonino, he was a devoted father of Susan Gambale of Medford. He was a loving grandfather of Loren Walsh and her husband John of Wakefield and Stephen Gambale of Medford. He leaves his loving great-grandchildren: Madison, Michael and Patrick Walsh. He was a dear brother to the late Mary DeYeso, Helen Foti and Kenny Antonino. He was a dear brother-in-law of Ann Antonino, Barbara Devlin and Gilda Vultaggio and also leaves many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, October 19th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the funeral home, Tuesday 4 – 8 PM.
