Martha Ann Smith Hobbs, 93, of Tifton passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado with the Rev. Todd Garner, the Rev. Owen Smith and the Rev. Tim Hicks officiating. Mrs. Hobbs will be laid to rest at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 20, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado.
Shaun Davis, Todd Davis, Will Hobbs, Joshua Moreira, Jacob Moreira, Matthew Exum, Gregory Hale Jr. and Terry Butler will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mrs. Hobbs’ Sunday school class at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado.
Born November 15, 1922 in Omega, Mrs. Hobbs was the daughter of the late Neal Locke Smith and Minnie Eula Lupo Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. William Frank Hobbs; one son, Charley Walter Hobbs; one granddaughter, Denise Hobbs; six brothers; and three sisters. She was a homemaker and member of Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; she loved to play the guitar and piano, sing and loved to entertain. She was the “Perfect Pastor’s Wife”.
Mrs. Hobbs is survived by one daughter, Glenda Davis of Cleveland, Tennessee; one brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Owen Smith and wife, Carlene of Defuniak Springs, Florida; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
