Obituary

Doris T. (Bonville) Dufresne, 94, of Acushnet, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 15, 2016 at Alden Court Nursing Home surrounded by the love of her family. She was the wife of the late Joseph Rene Dufresne.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Henry J. and Blanche L. (Robitaille) Bonville, she lived in Acushnet for many years.

Mrs. Dufresne was a communicant of St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Ladies of St. Anne and had been an active volunteer at Bingo for 32 years. She was awarded the Marian Medal from the Diocese of Fall River for her devoted service to her parish.

She was an avid pool player and enjoyed attending the Acushnet Council on Aging.

Her family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Alden Court Nursing Home and Community Nurse Home Care for the excellent care given to Doris.

Survivors include three children, Roland F. Dufresne and his wife Julianne of Rochester, Annette Demers of Fairhaven, and Claire R. England of Acushnet; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was the mother-in-law of the late Albert E. Demers and William S. Hayter.

Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:15AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, New Bedford at 10:30 AM.
