Nelson, Dorothy Quincy Beckwith of Weston, MA died Tuesday, October 11, 2016 after a long illness. She was 86 years old. Dorothy is survived by her children, George Nelson of Weston, MA, Dorothy (Q) Kellogg of Providence, RI, Brooks Nelson of Weston, CT, and Abigail Nelson of Weston, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Samuel and Louisa Kellogg and Hugh and Finn Nelson and her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ginger Beckwith of Wellesley, MA. Dorothy, also known as Dottie, grew up in Brookline and West Newton, MA and attended Beaver Country Day School and Finch College. She was the widow of Warren George Nelson of Weston, MA. Dorothy was a devoted anglophile, with a love of British comedies and international travel.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at All Saints Parish, 1773 Beacon St. Brookline, MA at 11:00 am. A burial service will be held at Linwood Cemetery in Weston, MA on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
