Eileen Fochler, 90 , died Wednesday in RI Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Fochler.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret (Foley) Marco. She had lived in Smithfield since 1955. Eileen was an award winning pie baker and she loved bowling, playing cards with her friends and bocce. She was a longtime member of the Smithfield Senior Center.
She leaves her children, Karaan A. Higgins and her husband Tim of Columbia,SC and Kevin C. Fochler of Smithfield, 4 grandchildren, Graham Higgins, Caitlyn Giannino, and her husband Jeff, Charles and Matthew Fochler and 3 great-granddaughters, Claire Higgins-Hart, Cameron and Paige Giannino. She was the sister of Ruth Kane of Smithfield.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, October 19th at 9:30am in the Chapel at Highland Memorial Park, 1 Rhode Island Avenue, Johnston. Visitation will be Tuesday October 18th 5-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Smithfield Senior Center, William Hawkins Trail, Smithfield, RI 02917
