Richard L. Oliver, 85, of Westcott Road, Scituate, died Thursday at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Jeanne (Rezendes) Oliver. They had been married for 65 years.
Born in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Silver) Oliver. He had lived in Scituate for the past 55 years and had previously lived in New Bedford, MA. He was a Korean War Air Force veteran.
Mr. Oliver worked as a mechanic for Sunbeam Bakery for 25 years before retiring. He enjoyed camping and traveling the country with his wife for many years. He was a volunteer at the North Scituate Senior Center.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Margaret Tudino of Hope, Evelyn Petisce of Riverside, his grandchildren: Nicole Longo of Warwick, Edward Tudino of Coventry, Tina Marie Joyce of Warwick, Loren Ezyk of Attleboro, MA, Joey Petisce of Pawtucket, his great grandchildren: Shaelynn Tatangelo, Karisa Longo, Jenna Longo, Jadyn Joyce,and Jacoby Joyce and a great great grandson, Mathias Salisbury. He was the brother of the late Frank Oliver, II, Hazel Wallace and Helen Helms.
Visitation will be held Monday 5-7pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Funeral service is private.
