Margaret M. “Peggy” Ford, age 95 of Brockton died October 12, 2016 at Baypointe Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a period of failing health.
She was born in Brockton, a daughter of the late Michael and Johanna (Healey) Ford and remained a lifelong resident of the city. Peggy was a graduate of St. Patrick High School and Carney Hospital School of Nursing. For many years she was a school nurse for the City of Brockton and retired from the Brockton VA Medical Center.
Peggy was a golf enthusiast and longtime member at the Brockton Country Club. She was also a longtime member of St. Margaret’s and Our Lady of Lourdes churches where she was a choir member. Peggy was devoted to the church and supported many missionary societies throughout her long life. Peg was honored to receive the Presidential Award for volunteer service in recognition of her thousands of hours of services including years of work in the reading program for the Brockton elementary schools.
She is survived by a cousin John Cahalane and his wife Irene of Brewster. Peggy was the sister of the late John T. Ford and Rita J. Gorman.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St (Rte. 123) Brockton Friday, 4-7pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 9am for a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
